Academic Evidence

Academic evidence overview

Academic evidence includes assignments such as:

  • papers
  • lab reports
  • projects
  • groupwork
  • experiments
  • writing
  • evaluations
  • the list goes on...

The assignments you hand in let the instructor and you know what you know or can do. If someone were to ask you what you learned you could show them the assignments. This would give them a good idea about what you know and what you can do.

Start saving your work!

Having evidence will come in handy later when you make connections between courses, or you apply for that internship experience, or that job you need to get when you graduate.

A Statement about Plagiarism

Remember, plagiarism becomes a HUGE problem when you become implicated. Essentially, it is fraud, a very serious charge. Conducting yourself as a student in an honest, open and responsible manner removes this possibility. Check out the Support link, A Statement on Plagiarism and Academic Dishonesty, for more information about Penn State's comprehensive policy. When in doubt - find out! Replace ignorance with a working understanding of how information should be used and cited. You owe it to yourself and your future!
